filters
are
used
on
all
combustion engines, either with diesel or petrol fuel. They
are available with
either
metal
or
conductive
plastic
bodies
and may be equipped also with mounting brackets.
What does it do?
Petrol and diesel-oil are the most common fuels for internal combustion
engines. Contaminants (particles, water) arrive in the fuel in various ways:

Contamination
during production, transport, stocking, repairs etc

Particles entering via the fuel tank ventilation
system |
|
Contamination by dirt and oxidation in the fuel
tank or pipes
|
|
Condense water in the fuel tank, due to changes
in temperature.

These contaminants can plug fuel injectors or carburettors, causing engine
malfunction and deterioration. Dirt, rust, scale and water are the major
impurities present in fuel. These impurities can originate from dirty and rusty
service station storage tanks and, as the vehicle ages, from corrosion within
the fuel system components. Therefor they must be removed from the fuel to
avoid damage or malfunctions in the various components of the fuel system.
