24.02.2006 - Sogefi surprises technical school in Tanzania with engine and FRAM filters

Sogefi Filtration, producer of FRAM filters has used a part of her budget for charity because of its 40-years anniversary. Sogefi Filtration has chosen for the MVM department (Motor Vehicle Mechanics) of the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Tanzania. It is 40 years ago that the official distribution office of FRAM entered the Benelux. During 2006 Sogefi will initiate more activities to celebrate this happy event.

Don Bosco school in Tanzania
Cees van Duin, Managing Director of Sogefi Filtration BV: “Because of our 40-years anniversary we have decided to spend a part of our budget to a socially involved project. We preferred a project that is related to cars or car parts. After some investigation we learned about the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Dodoma, Tanzania, where we supplied the MVM department with a Nissan engine. Herewith the technical student can improve their skills and experience with car related technical issues. In many African countries it is hard to learn the car mechanic job as technical equipment often lacks. In this way we hope to give them a better chance in their professional life. Of course a shipment with FRAM filters has been send to Don Bosco. It is important that they learn well how to replace the filters.

Interested in sponsoring Tanzania
The Don Bosco Technical Institute in Dodoma belongs to the worldwide network of Don Bosco schools and is always looking for sponsors to support their education. Companies willing to support either financially or in kind are more than welcome. The school can be contacted under the following e-mail address: Dodotech@maf.or.tz.
